Family welcomes trained puppy into their home

Imagine skipping the sleepless nights, the puddles on the floor, and the hours spent teaching “sit” or “stay.” Now imagine being greeted by a calm, obedient, and affectionate puppy who already understands your lifestyle and your needs. Sound too good to be true? It’s not. Welcome to the world of professionally trained dogs for sale—where your perfect pup might already be waiting for you at Puppy Steps Puppy Training.

What Does "Trained Dogs for Sale" Really Mean?

When we say trained dogs for sale, we're not talking about adult rescues or rehomed pets. At Puppy Steps Puppy Training, we specialise in matching families with hand-selected, professionally trained puppies tailored to their preferences in breed, gender, colour, and temperament.

Each puppy undergoes an intensive training program including:

  • Crate training

  • House training

  • Basic obedience (sit, stay, come, leash walking)

  • Socialisation with people, children, and other dogs

They arrive at your home well-mannered, confident, and ready to become part of your family.

A True Story: From Chaos to Calm

When the Andrews family first contacted us, they had just moved into a new home and wanted a Labrador Retriever for their three children. They were anxious about the usual puppy chaos but didn’t want to compromise on having a dog raised from puppyhood.

We found them a beautiful golden Lab puppy, trained him over several weeks, and they collected him when he was ready. The moment he walked through the door, he sat on command and calmly accepted belly rubs from the youngest child. No jumping. No barking. Just joy.

Six months later, they sent us this message:

“We’re so grateful to Puppy Steps. We didn’t know a puppy could be this easy. It feels like we skipped the hardest part and got straight to the good stuff.”

Why Choose a Trained Puppy Instead of Starting From Scratch?

Here’s a quick list to help you decide if a trained dog is right for you:

✅ Benefits of Buying a Trained Dog

  1. No sleepless nights – Puppies are crate trained and sleep through the night.

  2. No messes – House training is already established.

  3. Peace of mind – You know your puppy has been ethically sourced and health-checked.

  4. Tailored match – Breed, temperament, and training style matched to your lifestyle.

  5. Time saved – No time lost struggling with training basics.

Unlike rescue dogs (which can be wonderful but often require rehabilitation), our puppies start with a clean slate and receive structured training before joining your family.

FAQ: Common Questions About Trained Dogs for Sale

Q: What age are the puppies when they come home?

A: Most of our trained puppies go to their forever homes between 12–16 weeks of age, depending on your training requirements and availability.

Q: Can I request a specific breed or colour?

A: Absolutely. We work with ethical breeders to find puppies that meet your specific requirements of breed, colour and gender.

Q: Do you train for special needs or disabilities?

A: Yes, we can work with families who have specific accessibility needs and tailor the training accordingly. This however would need to be continued with a specialist trainer as the puppy ages.

Q: How much do trained puppies cost?

A: Prices vary based on breed, training duration, and any custom requirements. Contact us for more details.

Where Do We Source Our Puppies?

We only work with ethical breeders who prioritise health, temperament, and early socialisation. Every puppy we select comes from parents who are health tested, family pets, where possible. The puppies are vet checked, and begin their life in a nurturing environment—not a puppy farm.

We believe ethical sourcing is just as important as training. If you want more guidance on what to look for in a responsible breeder, visit The Kennel Club’s advice on buying a dog responsibly.

How Trained Puppies Fit into Family Life

Trained puppies are ideal for:

  • Busy professionals with little time for early training

  • Families with children who want a gentle, calm pup

  • Retirees seeking companionship without the hard work of training

  • First-time dog owners who feel nervous about the learning curve

Have you ever thought: “I’d love a dog, but I’m not sure I can handle the training?” You’re not alone—and we’re here to help.

Your Puppy, Your Way

From curly-coated Cavapoos to sleek black Labradors, we believe everyone should have a puppy that fits seamlessly into their life. That’s why we customise everything—from the breed selection to the obedience goals.

What our clients say

Trained Labrador Puppy. Black Labrador puppy which is a trained dog after completing puppy training at Puppy Steps

Lucy Lovell

"I was initially apprehensive, but we've been so happy with all Puppy Steps services and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Andy and his team! I followed the Fb posts for a few months, asked lots of questions and when the time was right I spoke to Andy at length and booked a place to find a puppy and train her. His experience helped to find a good litter and he helped us choose our puppy via video clips.

At 7 months now Frida is the calmest dog, with a wonderful temperament thanks to great training - a joy to have in our family. We'll definitely go back to Puppy Steps if we ever decide to have another puppy."

Kirsteen Binnie

"I contacted Andy @ puppy steps after reading the reviews and testimonials on the website. I spoke to Andy a number of times at length as I wasn’t sure the type of puppy that would suit our family. Andy found and trained our beautiful cocker spaniel Harper. She is a delight. Obedient, calm and super friendly. From day one everyone comments on how calm and well behaved she is. Slept all night from day one with no accidents. I would recommend Andy and his team in a heartbeat. I have called Andy since to get advice and guidance and he is always happy to help. Harper is nearly 8 months now and the best decision we ever made."

Linda and Mike, Aoife's owners

We have wanted our own dog for many years but with both of us working full time, it just wasn't possible. A mutual friend told me about Andy, so I contacted him to ask about the unique service he was offering. We had two in depth telephone conversations about our lifestyle, which breed would suit us, his experience with dogs, and the training he was offering etc. Yesterday we went to view one of Andy's puppies, a little black Cocker Spaniel. She was absolutely adorable, so tiny but full of beans. Andy is extremely knowledgable, he answered all our questions, and gave us plenty of advice and encouragement. We spent some time with Andy and his wife Lucy and two beautiful children, Harry and Libby. They made us feel very much at home, they are both so easy to talk to, even though it was our first meeting it felt like we had known them for ever. Andy is a great person, so professional, with extremely high principles. There was no pressure to adopt the puppy, we all needed to make sure it was the correct thing for all concerned. Fortunately they must have liked us too, because Andy and Lucy agreed that we were going to be responsible dog owners, who would give their puppy the home it deserved. We're collecting our puppy now named Aoife (pronounced - eefa) at the beginning of December.
Andy is offering an exceptional service, his passion and enthusiasm is phenomenal, and I would thoroughly recommend Andy to anyone who thought they couldn't take on a puppy. Exciting times ahead!!
